Ordering & shipping

Is shipping really free?

Yes — always, on every order, no minimum. Free shipping is baked into our pricing, so the number you see at checkout is the number you pay. No surprise handling fees, no "spend $50 to unlock" games.

When will my coffee ship?

We don't roast a single bean until you order — that's what the 3–5 business days are for. Nothing is sitting in a warehouse: the roast happens once you click buy, and your bag ships the same day it's roasted. Most U.S. deliveries arrive within about 3–7 business days after that — in the days after roasting, when coffee is at its best. Tracking lands in your inbox the moment it moves.

Can I return or exchange my order?

Because coffee is a perishable food, we can't accept physical returns — but you're covered. If your order arrives damaged, defective, or wrong, email us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right with a replacement, store credit, or refund. There's nothing to ship back. Full details are in our Refund & Return Policy, or just reach us at support@trufflecoffee.co.

Coffee & grind

What grind options do you offer?

Pick your grind on each product page: whole bean, standard (drip and pour-over), espresso (fine), or coarse (French press and cold brew). Not sure? Whole bean keeps the most flavor — but a matched ground grind brews great too.

Whole bean vs. ground — which should I choose?

If you own a grinder, go whole bean: grinding right before you brew protects aromatics and gives you the brightest, sweetest cup. No grinder, no problem — choose the ground option that matches your brewer and you'll still get a lovely cup. The golden rule either way: grind size should match your method.

What does "small-batch" actually mean?

It means your coffee is roasted to order in modest lots rather than warehouse-scale runs — nothing is pre-roasted and left to sit. Each batch gets closer attention and dialed-in care; you get specialty-grade coffee without the giant-bag commitment.

Do you offer samples?

We do. Our sample packs let you taste across the range — a smart way to find your everyday bag before you commit to a full size. Single origins, blends, flavored picks: try a few, keep your favorite.

Storage & freshness

How should I store my coffee?

Keep it in an airtight container, somewhere cool, dark, and dry — a pantry shelf beats a sunny countertop. Coffee's four enemies are air, light, heat, and moisture, so seal the bag well between brews. Skip the fridge and freezer for your daily bag: the temperature swings invite condensation, which dulls flavor.

How long will it stay at its best?

Coffee is at its best in the weeks right after roasting — and because yours is roasted to order, it arrives inside that window, while grocery-store bags are often weeks or months past their roast. For peak flavor, enjoy it within a few weeks of opening and grind right before you brew. It won't go "bad" after that — it just gradually loses the high notes.

About the name

Why is it named after a cat?

Truffle — full name Sir Truffleton — is the founder's cat, and the reason this whole thing has a name. He beat the odds against a tough diagnosis, and we named the coffee after him. The full story's on our Our Story page.
